Overview
Transport built around dealership operations
Dealership transport is a different problem from moving one family car. Units arrive from auctions, leave for trades, get balanced between rooftops and go out to retail customers who have already been promised a date. Every one of those moves competes for the same carrier capacity, and every delay ties up floor plan.
LoadX assigns dealer groups a dedicated coordinator who learns your lanes, your auction schedule and your rooftop contacts. Repeat routes get negotiated pricing rather than a fresh quote every time, and multi-unit moves are consolidated onto a single carrier wherever the timing allows.
Everything is documented for accounting: a single monthly invoice by rooftop or cost centre, bills of lading matched to stock numbers, and reporting on cost per unit and lane performance so you can see exactly where transport spend is going.
Built for dealer accounts
- Negotiated pricing on repeat lanes
- Consolidated billing by rooftop or cost centre
- Stock number tracking on every bill of lading
- Auction gate-pass and release coordination
- Open and enclosed equipment on one account
Benefits
Why customers choose this service
Volume-based pricing
Consistent monthly volume earns lane pricing rather than spot rates, so transport cost per unit becomes a number you can forecast.
Consolidated invoicing
One statement per period, broken down by rooftop, stock number and cost centre, matched to signed bills of lading.
Faster inventory turns
Priority dispatch on dealer lanes gets units off the auction lot and onto your front line days sooner.
A named account coordinator
One person who knows your stores, your lanes and your auction schedule β not a queue and a ticket number.
Multi-unit consolidation
Several units heading the same direction go on one truck, cutting cost per vehicle and simplifying receiving.
Customer delivery service
Retail deliveries handled as a brand experience: clean equipment, professional drivers and confirmed appointment windows.
Ideal customers
Who dealer transport is for
From single-rooftop independents to multi-state groups, if vehicles move in and out weekly, an account beats booking one-off shipments.
Franchise dealerships
Dealer trades, inter-store balancing and factory allocation moves that need to happen on schedule and on budget.
Independent used car dealers
Weekly auction buys brought home fast, so units hit the lot while the market is still where you bought them.
Wholesale and remarketing
Bulk movements between auctions, reconditioning centres and buyers, priced per unit with volume terms.
Online retailers
Direct-to-consumer delivery where transport is part of the customer experience and delivery dates are contractual.
Fleet and lease returns
Off-lease and fleet de-fleet programmes moved from return centres to remarketing channels at volume.
Specialty and luxury dealers
Enclosed equipment on the same account for the units that need it, without a separate vendor relationship.
The process
How the shipment runs, step by step
Account setup
We map your rooftops, lanes, auction affiliations and billing structure, then agree terms and standing pricing.
Submit moves
Send single units or a batch by email, phone or spreadsheet. Your coordinator confirms pricing and pickup timing the same day.
Dispatch and consolidation
Loads are grouped where routes overlap and assigned to carriers with a proven record on your lanes.
Pickup and paperwork
Gate passes, keys and releases are coordinated with the seller or auction, and stock numbers are recorded on the bill of lading.
Delivery and reporting
Units arrive at the receiving rooftop or customer, and the move lands on your consolidated statement with full documentation.
Pricing factors
What determines your transport price
Auto transport is a live market. These five variables explain almost every dollar of difference between two quotes.
Distance and route
Longer moves cost more in total but less per mile. Busy interstate corridors price better than rural routes that pull a driver off their lane.
Vehicle size and condition
Height, length and weight decide how many units fit on a trailer. Lifted trucks, duallys and non-running vehicles need specific equipment.
Transport type
Enclosed trailers carry fewer vehicles with more protection, so they typically run 40 to 60 percent above the open rate on the same lane.
Season and timing
Snowbird season, summer relocations and end-of-quarter dealer volume tighten capacity. Flexible dates almost always lower the price.
Pickup and delivery locations
Metro-to-metro moves are the most competitive. Remote addresses, gated communities and narrow streets may need a nearby meeting point.

Questions
Service FAQs
What volume do I need for dealer pricing?
There is no hard minimum. Most dealers see meaningful lane pricing from around five units a month, and terms improve as volume and lane consistency increase. Even single-unit dealers benefit from an account for the billing and coordination alone.
Can you handle auction pickups for us?
Yes. We coordinate gate passes and releases with Manheim, ADESA, Copart, IAA and independent auctions, and can arrange pickup as soon as payment clears and the unit is released. See auction transport for detail.
Do you offer terms and consolidated billing?
Yes. Established dealer accounts are invoiced on agreed terms with a single statement per period, broken down by rooftop, stock number and cost centre so it reconciles against your DMS without manual work.
Can you deliver directly to our retail customers?
Yes. Customer deliveries are booked with a confirmed appointment window and handled by drivers used to representing a dealership brand. Enclosed equipment is available where the sale warrants it.
How quickly can units be picked up?
Standing dealer lanes are usually covered within one to three business days, and same or next-day pickup is often possible on major corridors when the unit is released and ready.
